Risk is more complex, more interconnected and harder to

detect - and the pressure to get it right is rising.

Where investigators share what actually works

The National Investigations Symposium returns for its 15th event in 2027, bringing together the people responsible for uncovering misconduct, managing risk, and strengthening integrity for two days at the International Convention Centre in Sydney. It’s a working forum for practitioners dealing with real cases, real constraints, and real consequences.

Investigators, regulators, auditors and integrity leaders from Australia and overseas will share what’s working, what’s changing, and where investigations are heading next.

A dedicated day of hands-on workshops (1 June) sits alongside the symposium, open to all, including those not attending the symposium.

More people. More cases. Same focus on the real work

The 2025 symposium and workshops brought more than 850 delegates together from across Australia and the region.

In 2027, the move to the International Convention Centre allows for:

  • more specialised sessions
  • more space for focused discussion and peer exchange
  • more practical, discussion-led formats alongside plenary sessions

What you’ll get

Case-led insights into how investigations succeed, fail, and hold up under scrutiny

Practical techniques on interviewing, evidence handling, forensic tools, intelligence analysis

Emerging risks - AI, crypto, complex misconduct and cross-jurisdictional issues and how they’re likely to evolve

Sector-wide perspectives on how integrity systems are evolving and what that means for investigators.
